Got a Hot Ones sauce sampler as a Christmas present and it includes this monstrosity. I want to try it to say I did and preferably live to tell the tale. For reference, my heat tolerance is decent (Scorpion Tabasco and Flatiron Four Pepper blend are my daily spice additives), but I know Pepper X is something very different.

Any advice on the amount to sample, what it should be applied to, and what to eat/drink right after if my mouth or stomach are an inferno and I need to put out the flames?

I would say just don’t psych yourself out and just go for it. I expected a lot more from it than what I got. Not complaining though.

Xperience isn’t very hot, it’s all marketing. Pepper x is hot but it depends on how much is put into a sauce. Gator/Mean Green from Puckerbutt are mostly pepper x mash and they are in fact extremely hot. Xperience uses very little pepper x and even my friends who can’t handle tabasco scorpion have little issue with it.

Tldr: just try some you’ll be fine.

Take the wrapper off the top so you can open it

Start small- build tolerance. Trouble comes when you over do it. So don’t coat wings in it unless you’re sure you’re up to it. Add a dot to a chip- go from there. Don’t eat it on an empty stomach.

Or ignore me. Do as thy will.

  5. it is very hot despite what the morons parrot from the old man that got ran out of the country. just eat it and when it hurts slow down. when you recover continue. same as everything else spicy

Try some on a toothpick, might surprise you how mild it is if you have “experience” with super hot sauces already

Its not as bad as you think its gonna be

Just a drop on the pinky, then it’s all subjective. Nothing else we can tell ya that’s relevant tbh

If Scorpion Tabasco is your daily driver you’ll have zero problems with this. As others have said, the heat falls way short of the marketing.

It’s still very hot, of course, but it’s not even in the non-extract top league. Fill 0,5-1 teaspoon with it and dab it evenly across your meal and you’ll get a pleasant burn.

You can eat it like any other of the hottest sauces you regularly use. It’s hot but it’s not all that.

Kind of done w/ Hot Ones. It’s all marketing. It’s probably hot for non spice-heads, but all their big hits are extract bombs.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I rubbed half a tbs on my tongue directly and didn’t have any water for 7 – 8 minutes

It has amazing flavor. One of my favorite sauces when im in the mood for hot.

Add a tablespoon when making the filling for shepherds/cottage pie.

I was kinda dissapointed in this sauce as far as heat. It’s hot but I’ve certainly had hotter from sauces that aren’t supposedly made from the hottest pepper. I do like the heavy tumeric flavors of the Last Dab sauces but they’ve never blown my mind with heat.

Eat a little, not a lot, beforehand. Something bready or starchy works best, I find. Eat enough to dull the blow, but not enough to want to throw up. Like, maybe eat a piece of bread or something. Then just do a **tiny** drop on some food and be careful to not get any on your hands, as you may be rubbing your eyes later. Cheese is a good option. I recommend sticking a toothpick into the bottle and just putting a little dab on your food to make sure you have a small enough amount.

Next, see how you handle it. Starting out, don’t eat anything right after. With super hots, if you’re not used to them, you can get nauseous if you do. Drink *whole* milk if it’s too hot. It absolutely cannot be skim, as the fats and the proteins work together to counteract capsaicin. Don’t drink too much at a time and never use a straw, as it can also make you nauseous. Try to drink a gulp, swish it in your mouth, and slowly swallow a little at a time. Water helps, too, as it soothes the inflammation and washes the sauce in your mouth down into your stomach, moving things along faster.

If it’s still too much, just ride it out, then come back using considerably less on a larger piece of food. If it keeps being too much, dilute it in something like soup or pinto beans in a burrito bowl to a tolerable heat level and work your way up. If you do well with the initial drop, stay at that amount for a little while, then introduce a little more, and repeat in steps. You don’t want to eat more until the effects fully go away, even if the heat is tolerable, as they act cumulatively.

As an aside, if you ever get any in your eyes or other sensitive areas, never attempt to wash it with water, as it can spread the capsaicin. If it’s in your eyes, just leave them be and seek medical attention. You can only do more harm. If it’s something you can actually soak, like your genitals, soak it in whole milk. It might look goofy soaking your pecker in a glass of milk, but it works.

more than likely you will be able to handle it fine

It’s a marketing gimmick and won’t be nearly as hot as you’re imagining. Nothing to fear, this sauce tests at 65-70k SHU. It’s not extreme at all.

  19. Critikal_Dmg

It’s not that hot. I think 20% of any given lineup is hotter.

  20. Few-Barracuda-1491

Pour it on your food like its taco bell sauce and enjoy

  21. cosmoboy

It’s been my experience with the Last Dabs that they really do go for flavor. I haven’t had this one, but I’d expect it to be reasonably hot and very flavorful. I’d dive in.

  22. Ok-Sea300

Start with the bomb, that way this one is more of a tasty relief from the pain.

  23. BlackMoth27

pour it directly into eyes. then snort a line of it, while chocking on hot wings. /s

it’s hot sauce i pour a small amount on my palm and lick it up, and if it’s good i’ll use it on food, whatever food you’re eating add some. that’s how you use hot sauce.

  24. GoatLegRedux

It’s hot sauce. Put it on some food and eat it.

  25. jasonwirth

If the show is any indication, you first start on Da Bomb.
    Enjoy!

  26. Usual-Language-745

I’ve never tried it but I can just tell it’s not actually that hot from the show. I’ve never seen anyone react strongly to it and Ed Curry is a charlatan.

  27. realSatanAMA

It’s pretty hot, but I can’t really tell the difference between pepper x and Carolina reaper sauces.. I think the pepper x sauces have a better pepper flavor.

  28. TurtleIsland86

It’s not THAT bad. It only tastes really spicy to me after having da bomb in the wing challenge. But if you have it alone it’s spicy yes but not nearly as bad as da bomb.
